Dave Bailey, Manager of the Bolton Wanderers Football Club International Soccer School, gives us the inside scoop:
The boys had a big game against Preston North End a Championship side. We have had 5 boys offered the opportunity to train with their main Centre of Excellence Team!

On top of that they are very excited about one or two especially. But in fairness I am not going to say who at this stage as I don’t want to add to the pressure but we will work together to give those boys a chance to play full time over here.

One of our boys also had the chance to train with BWFC reserves. He did ok, but in fairness it was difficult to come into train and then play a game against Celtic (Scottish Premier League Side) U19s, they played very well and their desire to close down and win the ball early was too much. BWFC had some boys rested for the Reserves League Fixture the following day so a young squad faced a hard battle.

In fairness to Celtic they played some great football at times but were just stronger physically on the day, for our guy it was just too quick and the pace to much for him. We have one or two other Professional Teams interested but for now it is a test of character as to his attitude and how he deals with what is for some of these boys a first taste of any negative comments about them. I have to say what an experience for the boy and opportunity, a lifetime chance that will be with him forever!
